Anuja and Pushkar will be wed this August in Cincinnati, Ohio, but until then, the families wanted to host a celebration here in Cleveland at the one and only Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights Ohio! Indian events are so much fun – between the colors, the food, the music — which by the way was spun by my own brother Jayson Koch making a guest appearance from Miami for Num Num World Music while my other brother, Kris Koch spun in one of the other ballrooms! It was quite the excitement for our family being in the celebration industry!! Please enjoy the images!

Piperjames is seen here at the wedding of Tanith & Christo who are both from Cape Town.
The wedding took place on Friday, 12th of March 2010 at the very splendid Skilpadvlei Wine Estate in Stellenbosch, Cape Town, South Africa.
Piperjames is dressed in Full Highland Attire, adorned in the new South Africa Tartan, which has been designed on the National Flag colours of The Republic of South Africa.
Piperjames is the only Highland Piper in South Africa and indeed the world today, wearing this beautiful patriotic tartan.
Come on you other Pipers and Pipe Bands in South Africa, start wearing this beautiful Tartan and promote South Africa wherever you go.
God bless South Africa!

Jessica could not have asked for more beautiful weather on her wedding day! Jessica’s hair and makeup was provided by Kristin Colaneri.
The talented team of Lynn Michelle Photography takes photos of the groom while the bride and her bridesmaids linger nearby.
It is great to have a bridesmaid’s dress with pockets! Photographer Lynn is in the background.
The ceremony was held in the Garden Room at the Crescent Hotel. My pictures do not capture the beauty and open feeling of this room.
The pianist, Keith Schmorr is warming up on the piano.
The flower girls were precious!
During the rehearsal, they were not too sure about going down the aisle. However, for the ceremony they did just fine…of course there was a treat waiting for them at the front of the room (a bridesmaid had two toy rabbits for them in her pocket).
Photos of the Reception location will follow shortly.

This past weekend, we here at Crystal Genes Photography kicked off our first wedding of the year with a bang by debuting our new photobooth! We’ve been wanting to add this to our services for some time, but didn’t actually do anything about it until our wonderful couple, Kayla & Cutler, mentioned that they would love to have one at their wedding. So, instead of letting them outsource to someone else, I gave my dad a call and told him what I had in mind. A couple of weeks later he had helped construct the perfect portable booth! After a few more months of consulting with a seamstress and getting the final touches put in place, we finally had what we had envisioned and couldn’t wait to put it to use! Thanks again Dad for all your help!
One thing that I knew I wanted was an option for different backdrops. So many photobooths have a plain white background, and while that’s great, I wanted something a little more fun and representative of my style. I have always loved a busy patterned background (I even did an entire college photo project involving this love), so I was excited when Kayla chose this retro floral print for her booth.
FAVE:)
Many thanks to Andy the intern for keeping the booth alive all evening!
Thanks Kayla & Cutler for getting us on the ball with the photobooth fun!
To see all the images from the photobooth, go here to the website and click on “The Photobooth.” under “The Proofing.” tab. Enjoy!

Welcome to the world of weddings – time to find a dress! I cannot deny that I was secretly dreading/loving the idea of dress shopping. It has such potential for fun and excitement, but also for disappointment. Fitting into the perfect dress, the one you’ve always dreamed of never fits your budget. You think you know what you want, but then the sales girl and your mother also think they know what you want, and it is surprisingly different.
The day started out at David’s Bridal. While I think their bridesmaid dresses are pricey yet incredibly convenient, I was hoping to walk away with an affordable gown of my own. Instead, I tried on three dresses in the entire hour I was there and most of my time was spent stranded in pounds of fabric, unable to break free on my own. The girl who was supposed to be helping me in my allotted hour and a half according to the appointment set over a week ago was too busy with the girl next to me. It was obvious she wasn’t paying attention when I was able to put all three gowns away, get dressed, and walk out the door without her seeing a thing. I got an apology phone call two hours later, but let’s just say I won’t be returning.
Fed up, my mother immediately drove us across town to Schaffer’s. I suppose she just wanted some real service, but the majority of their dresses cost more than my first car. By no means will my entire wedding budget be spent on the dress alone. We thanked them and left, relieved that they at least took the time to chat a few minutes and seemed to take an interest in us.
Finally, we headed over to The Bridal Connection in Ankeny. By then, I was about to throw my arms in the air and tell the girl to hand me a white sheet and some thread to make the dress myself. Remembering my lack of sewing skills I decided against it. We did eventually find some rather flattering dresses, my favorite being the one taken right off the mannequin. It wasn’t exactly in my price range, but maybe it will go on sale..? Oh dear. Anyone have a used dress they want to pawn off on me? E-mail me for measurements.

Mark and Shelley were married one late afternoon at the end of February. It was the perfect day, the weather was great and everything seemed to flow with such ease. The ceremony was beautiful and heartfelt, and the speeches, well, so much of emotion I was almost teary myself. Mark and Shelley are very real and have a lovely warm spirit about them. It was wonderful to capture them together because they were very at ease in each others space and really didnt require much of my direction at all in the creative shoot. Both from Gauteng, Shelly had told Mark of her love of the Midlands and her wish to get married at Granny Mouse. So great to make that come true and heres hoping that the pics tell the good story.
I love this pic of Shelley and her dad, and how she is looking at him as he “gives her away”
