"South In the Spring Time"

Ahhh…finally. After one of the coldest and wettest winters we have experienced in North Georgia in the last 30 years there are signs of hope that it Old Man Winter is leaving. Yesterday in between breaks of wedding planning at Waters Mill for my clients, I would take a walk on the grounds and be silent listening to Spring arrive. The birds were singing, the squirrels were scampering, the koi adventured to the top of the pond and the jonquils popped open their heads for a look around. Ahhhh I do love Spring.

When I was pursuing a career has a youth minister and long ways from home, the Indigo girls wrote and produce a song called “South in the Spring Time”. Thanks to Itunes I have recently reconnected with this song. I love this Song! No matter what, this song always brings me to a happy place and with today’s commentaries that’s not always an easy task.

Weddings at Waters Mill remind me of “South in the Spring Time”. The grass is always green for those verdant weddings, the forty year old snow ball tree erupts with thousands of white blooms, the pink peonies are showy and of course the purple rhododendron is majestic. It is such a beautiful place filled with peace and harmony.

Come sit with me for a spell and will sip on a cup of hot tea and listen to the silence of Waters Mill as I hum the Indigo Girls “South in the Spring Time” and plan the next generations tapestry.
