How Long Does It Take?

Love is in the air. Statistics have shown that more engagements occur during the months of December-February. For those Brides that get engaged during this time frame, panic and anxiety can sometimes start to cloud a girls wedding planning for fear she may not have enough time to plan the dream wedding.

At Waters Mill, I have planned weddings in less than three weeks. It can be a little tricky but it can be accomplished. It is extremely important for you to work with professionals that can plan your dream wedding with such a short notice. We are blessed at Waters Mill to have “in house” our own team that is always on “ready” to make a Bride’s day memorable, elegant and impressive.

In the South, we have just experienced some of the worse cold weather for the longest duration in decades. I cannot remember such cold for such a long time. Usually, we get a day or two of frigid degrees but then the mercury climbs back to average temps for us. Not this time. Some days we didn’t even reach the twenties and stayed in the teens for the entire day. But it is during this time, the staff at Waters Mill begin to prepare the grounds for our beautiful weddings. We will drop approximately 800 pounds of fertilizer, lime and grass seed to insure the grounds are “green”. As much as I am not a fan of winter, I love the Spring time that comes to Waters Mill. She is always so happy when the daffodils break the silence from a long winter’s night. Our April and May weddings at Waters Mill are just exquisite. The landscape is beautiful. With April, we get the first smile of what Mother Nature has to offer with our new blooms of the season but then when May arrives the landscape at Waters Mill is showing her best “face”. The property will explode of my Grandmother’s fuchsia peonies, lavender Mountain Laurel making a showy border and the grass greener than you can imagine. It is just beautiful. Oh and we cannot forget about the snowball bush or should I say tree. She is at least 43 years old and around Mother’s Day her arms are breaking with brilliant white snowball florets. As kids, we would get into snowball fights with Mama Waters’ flowers. Not a good move on our part but oh well…the youth.

If you are a Bride that finds yourself in the “OMG panic I only have a short amount of time to plan my wedding,” No worries. At Waters Mill, we got you covered.
