Actress and Hallyu superstar Lee Young Ae is married! Her wedding was held on the 24th in the United States in complete secrecy, and was revealed to the Korean press belatedly. Her groom is a Korean-American, a Mr. Jung who graduated from Illinois University, and is currently working in the American IT business. The wedding was attended only by close family members of the bride and groom. Lee and her husband will make their home in the States, although Lee will be continuing her acting career in Korea. Lee Young Ae’s management promises that Lee will hold a press conference soon to answer all questions.
This is just…Wow. A surprise, indeed. And Korean netizens and the press are going batshit insane over it. I’m just impressed that she managed to keep this a secret for so long, and so well. I guess that’s one way to keep your wedding private!
At any rate, congratulations to her! I can’t say that I’m a fan of Dae Jang Geum, but she was amazing in Sympathy For Lady Vengeance, and I’m eager to see her return to acting. Four years is a long enough wait. Come back to us, Geum-ja ssi!
