The Smart Bride Blog's Beauty Expert

So now you know that you should begin prepping your skin at least one month before your portrait and/or wedding day. Stay consistent with your cleansing and moisturizing routines so your skin is not stressed.

When thinking about what your make up look will be, remember that this decision is just as important as your dress choice.  The great thing about make up is it washes off.  You can try on as many looks as you do dresses.

Remember to be classic not trendy.  You want to be able to look at your photo in 10 or 20 years and still think your make up looks beautiful.

Keep in mind when trying your looks that daytime wedding make up should be much lighter than evening wedding make up.

Start with Concealer over any imperfections or over dark under eye circles.  Matte make up photographs better.   So be sure to use loose powder over liquid foundation.

To keep your lip color on longer: start with a lip primer then use lip liner to line lips then the trick, fill in the entire lip with the lip liner.  Next apply your lipstick then follow with a dab of gloss in the center of the top and bottom lip for a perfect pout.

Apply a soft color to the apples of the cheek then sweep gently over the cheek bone.

Eyes look lovely when defined with smoky eyeliner applied lightly along the upper and lower lashes.  For eye color, choose soft, neutral shades that enhance not compete with your eye color.  Mascara is a must!  If you are sentimental make sure to wear waterproof mascara.

Future posts will include tips and tricks for contouring and highlighting for your specific face shape.  So check in again soon for more!
