I was meeting with a bride yesterday and as we were signing the contract she mentioned how straight forward mine was. I asked her how so and she told me she meet with another local photographer a few days before and wanted to read through their contract to which she found a number of strange fees, these are two that really stood out,
- Extra Charge if they have to use their flash XX number of times.
- Extra Charge if they have to hold the brides bouquet during any of the formal or group pictures.
What? I couldn’t believe it. The lesson here is to always read a contract before you sign it. If you know anyone getting married be sure they watch out for something like this, so called “professional” photographers trying to hide escalators in the contract.
